Chris and I both took the week off of work for 4th of July and headed out of town with the boys. Not wanting to make the 10 hour drive straight to the MS coast, we stopped off in The Woodlands near Houston for a couple of nights. The boys were so excited and had been counting down the days until vacation. Ben was especially interested in where we were and where we were going. He kept checking in with us to make sure we were still in Houston and were still going to Mississippi. It was the first vacation we've taken in six years without diapers or pull-ups, so I was pretty excited!
We had a little bit of rain midday so we headed over to the waterway, grabbed some lunch, and took a tour on a water taxi.
Then into the mall for a few rides on the carousel.
Earlier that day at the swimming pool ... this area of the pool was really deep. It had painting and mosaics on the bottom and sides of the pool for the bigger kids to do a scavenger hunt.
This was the little kid area and splash yard.
Sam and Chris spent most of their time on the two story water slide. That's Sam coming out on his tummy on the right. He's become quite the adventurous swimmer this summer!
Later that evening ... s'mores anyone?
We stopped at the Sam Houston statue on the way to Houston after work on Friday. It was pretty late and way after the boys bed time so they were pretty freaked out.

We stayed at that hotel several years back when my sister was getting married. I broke my toe on that damn water slide! Looks like you guys had fun. :-)
