End of Summer Pool Party

Sam's martial arts studio had their end of summer pool party at The Colony Aquatic Park.  It was big time fun and they were completely worn out at the end of the day!

First Day of School

Say it ain't so!!!  The summer flew by and it's already time for the first day of school.  This was the best summer ever so neither the boys nor I were ready to get back to reality.

Pops was even there for the big send off!

Happy Birthday Mimi

A birthday dinner for Mimi with the crazy crew!!!

Happy Birthday to Mimi ... cha cha cha!!!

And earlier that evening, Little-Bit fell asleep waiting for the party.

Lost Two More Teeth

After at least a week of Sam's tooth barely hanging on and us trying to convince him to let us pull it, he pulled it by himself.  Then he pulled another one a few days later!

Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Lulu and I took the boys to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science when she came to visit in August.

We headed straight to the top floor and started with the space exhibit.

The boys couldn't wait to see the dinosaurs.

Dinosaur teeth hurt!

Sam and Ben were so excited when Ansel was able to take a break from work and show them around "his" museum.

Fly like a bird (or maybe not)!

Lulu was very excited to explore the gems and minerals.  The museum did a great job of keeping little boys engaged in the exhibit.

If they could only figure out how to harness the energy in these two little guys!

By the time we made it to the engineering exhibit I was a little zonked, but these two were sooo excited.

This robot and programming exhibit was one of my favorites.  This would have blown my mind when I was Sam's age.  Even Ben figured how how to program it by the time we were done.  His favorite part was turning the robot's eyes green.

The kids LOVED the children's museum section.  They REALLY need to raise the age limit.  It is supposed to be for kids age 5 and younger, but Sam managed to sneak in.  They played in here for at least an hour.

All of the kids worked together to get the "bricks" up the conveyor belts and build the "buildings" at the top.  It was amazing how they all worked together and everyone did their job.  Any time a new kid came up they made sure he had a job to do.

And just when I thought they might be ready to go, Ben had to go shopping in his construction gear.

He DID NOT want to leave without his construction vest and hard hat!

What a fun way to end the day ... racing a dinosaur in the sports hall!

Watch Ben's reaction to the dinosaur each time.
