Dinosaur State Park and Fossil Rim

We went to Dinosaur State Park and Fossil Rim the last weekend of Spring Break with the Johnson's. Sam was super excited. I wasn't sure if he was expecting to see real alive dinosaurs or if he was just making believe.

Benny did a face plant on the dirt trail not long after we got started. It stuck nicely to the freshly applied sun screen!

We had to cross the water to see the dinosaur tracks. It was very clear and refreshing.

Ben was completely fascinated by the water crossing and really wanted to do it on his own.

Mr. Big Stuff fell in the water and got soaking wet.

A little more careful now.

Fossilized dinosaur tracks.

Group photo near the dinosaur tracks.

The kids were making up stories about how this was where the dinosaurs slept.

Ok, scratch that thought, throwing a fit here is not the best idea!

A much better view up on Daddy's shoulders.

Ben kept us up very late. He did not want to share the air mattress with Sam. He kept hitting, kicking, and scratching Sam until we gave up and put Sam in one of the big beds. This was the first time Ben had ever slept outside of a crib or pack-n-play so he went a little wild. We'd hear a noise, look up, and he'd either be standing in the window sill or standing on the back of the club chair. What a little monkey! He'd also wake up every time the AC cut on so we had to turn the thermostat up. Chris said it got up to 80 degrees in the room, so he couldn't sleep, but it didn't bother me! Ben looked like a little angel in the morning. I suppose we'll need to wait a little longer before we try the hotel room thing again.

We were up early again the next morning to go see the animals at Fossil Rim.

The views were gorgeous!

The kids got a bag of food to feed to the animals. They got sooo excited every time one of the animals came up to the van!

Bummer of a birthmark Hal!

The view from the front.

Benny twirls his hair on our way back home.

This never happens!
