Hockey Time

The hockey season has begun and we are once again season ticket holders for the Allen Americans. We've taken Benny to a few games, but he can't make it past the second period yet. Sam is still not very interested in watching the game either. He mostly plays with my iPhone. We got to skate with the players after the last game and a few of them signed Sam's helmet, so he got a kick out of that.

Biscuit ... the new team mascot.

They make the games fun for the kids with lots of different special events. Sam and Hagen even got to wear their Halloween costumes to one game.

The boys have switched from regular ice skating lessons to hockey skating lessons. They definitely aren't going as fast, but we haven't been practicing much either. Time to put in some more practice time!

Ben's First Haircut

Ben got his first haircut and there isn't much of a story to tell. Surprisingly, he didn't make a peep or cry a tear. He looked a little worried and you could tell that the scissors tickled him because he would flinch every time they touched him. Of course it helped that he got to see big brother Sam get his hair cut first. Other than that, he was very interested in the little race car. I didn't really want to cut his hair yet, but it was really getting in his eyes and bothering him. We just trimmed it up a little, so you can't tell a huge difference.

Yiayia Visits for Halloween

Yiayia came to see her boys for Halloween. We went to the Dallas Arboretum to see their pumpkin patch and pumpkin storybook houses. The Arboretum is always so beautiful. Sam loves to have the wide open spaces to run.

You can see downtown Dallas across White Rock Lake.

Carving a pumpkin is a holiday tradition. We always manage to pick the pumpkin with the thickest walls, and Sam always picks the most difficult stencil. Somehow Chris convinced him that simpler is better this year. New for this year, Sam wanted to roast the pumpkin seeds like they did at his school. We were doubtful, but they were yummy.

Making Halloween cookies.

My little Halloween monsters ... Fireman Sam and his dog Spot.

One day when the kids were in school, we went and had sushi for lunch. Nicoletta had never tried sushi before, so Blue Fish in Watters Creek was a great place to go.
